                                             What we do

                                                Focus of 2022
2022 is again marked by the consequences of the COVID-19
pandemic and the continuing war in Ukraine, which triggered an
immediate humanitarian crisis and which has had a significant
impact on food security and supply. To support its members’ needs
and ensure their voice is heard at EU level, Fedima closely follows
the sanctions packages adopted by the EU, its allies, and Russia. The
Association mapped different approaches adopted at the Member
State level in response to food labelling issues. Furthermore, with
partner association FoodDrinkEurope, it took the lead in drafting
a letter to the European Commission, calling for a more flexible
and coordinated approach to food labelling and supported
FoodDrinkEurope’s call for mutual recognition of Member States’
                                                approaches to labelling flexibility.

Fedima’s regular work is organised around five overarching work streams
to guarantee that its members are well-represented at
EU policy-making level and are well-informed on the latest developments
and initiatives taking place across Europe. This multi-faceted structure
helps Fedima maintain consistent activity on various topics and drive
