Bunge accompanied the well-known industry event "Koch des Jahres/Chef of the Year" with its Eleplant and Optima Bratgold products. The products were used by the chefs in the competition for various creations. Florian Kornexl and Simon Scheuerlein cooked with Optima Bratgold in the preliminary round, while almost all the candidates used Bunge products in the final.
Jaspar Wcislo fried all the crispy components in Optima Exquisit. Florian Kornexl and Alexander Högner used the frying oil in the competition for potato chips and fried onions, for example, while Ivan Lazarenko used it for starters. Simon Scheuerlein used Optima for empanadas and confit salmon and Eleplant for crumbles.
Harald Guimaraes, Head of Marketing B2C and B2B Bunge at the Hilter site, explains:
We are delighted that our innovative products were used so successfully at this outstanding industry event. It was great to see how masterfully the young chefs used Eleplant and Optima.
The grand finale of the renowned "Chef of the Year" live competition was held on October 21 at the Kameha Grand in Bonn. Six of the most talented professional chefs competed to put their skills to the test. The final was a special tribute to three-star legend Dieter Müller. He has supported the competition since its inception as jury president and played a key role in promoting it. A top international jury in Bonn decided on the winner again this year.
Optima Brat Gold Exquisit - Master of the kitchen symphony
Optima Brat Gold Exquisit makes a perfect hollandaise sauce. Chef Florian Kornexl used the versatile frying oil with liquid butter components for his exclusive recipe at the Epicurean Night.
Optima Brat Gold Exquisit contains no artificial additives, has a good nutritional profile with less saturated fatty acids than pure clarified butter and impresses with its clear, golden color. It gives dishes a naturally lasting and characteristic buttery taste that suits many recipes. Another advantage is cost control with excellent results for efficient frying and cooking.
Optima Brat Gold with butter flavor - but plant-based
The product innovation Optima Brat Gold vegan is the alternative to clarified butter, butter and ghee. It is ideal for sauces as well as savory and sweet dishes. Chef Simon Scheuerlein used it to cook his rolling potatoes at the Epicurean Night and was impressed by the delicious result. The vegan oil is very suitable for frying, sautéing, roasting, melting and steaming thanks to its high heating properties of up to 220 degrees - butter only goes up to 175 degrees. It is characterized by a long-lasting buttery taste and is easy to dose thanks to its semi-liquid consistency.
Flavor revolution
Eleplant is the new plant-based butter alternative from Bunge and is ideal for spreading, frying, cooking and baking. It owes its unique taste to its patented recipe: 79% vegetable oils and fats paired with 21% oat drink. With no milk, lactose, palm oil, additives or preservatives, this butter alternative is suitable for a wide range of diets. Another milestone is the CO2 footprint: it is only half that of conventional butter. Eleplant therefore makes an important contribution to sustainable nutrition. The butter alternative is available in a practical 200 g block.
